DJUAL

Former designer of the well-known Japanese eyewear brand 999.9, Korean designer Ryu Geon-woo established his own brand, DJUAL, in 2010. As a designer, he has lamented the lack of good and sincere dialogue between designers, eyewear manufacturers, and craftsmen, where most manufacturers prioritize "price" and "quality," but overlook the wearer's most direct experience. Ryu Geon-woo established DJUAL eyewear, which means he hopes the products have "dual value" of comfortable functionality and stylish appearance, bridging the past and the future with a modern creative philosophy.

Traditional Japanese celluloid frames used to emphasize the exquisite craftsmanship of craftsmen, using thick celluloid plates to sculpt rich classic shapes. However, they often feel too heavy when worn. To create comfortable celluloid frames for customers, DJUAL eyewear uses 6mm plates and designs curves that fit the ergonomic shape of the human body, creating two styles of frames with and without embedded iron cores. In addition, DJUAL eyewear has developed ultra-thin 2.3mm celluloid frames, reducing 25-30% of the weight compared to traditional celluloid eyewear on the market. The frame and temples form a comfortable weight distribution design.
